PREPARING FOR A NEW TOMORROW!
Dear Restoration Church Family and Friends,
I hope that you are well! We are all well, a bit stir crazy, but well!
This first wave is here-social distancing, businesses closing, essential work only, etc...Remember, this is only for a time. A time longer than any of us want, but it will end.
I continue to hear that you are checking in on each other and taking care of one another. Keep it up! God's glory revealed in His Church. Pray for each other, read some Scripture out loud for your family to hear. Lead a common prayer time at home. Set a regular schedule for your day! (This comes from my own frustration!)
The second wave is coming. I am hearing about more cases that are closer to home. I have a friend in his 30's who was diagnosed, but has recovered! All reports speak of increasing intensity this week through Easter. This will come to the Restoration Church community in some form. This week you will possibly see someone you know contracting the virus, getting sick, being hospitalized, and, God have mercy, dying.
Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil for you are with me.
We must be prepared to respond as a community that loves Jesus, has trust that this life is not all that there is, and our hope is in God’s grace, mercy, and ultimate love for his people. Martin Luther did this in his time during the Plague. (For a little history-read his letter to Johan Hess here!) Pray for God to reveal how we can be prepared. Look for ways to be hospitable and available to help. Make some phone calls and pray with your brothers, sisters, neighbors, friends, and family. Check in on others. Even if it is just to chat for a few minutes. If you are working from home, take some time to go for a walk. Pray for those who are out of work and not sure how they will pay their bills.
I hope you have connected. We will being doing a short mid-week video, Subscribe to the Restoration Church YouTube channel for updates. The buttons below will take you to the appropriate sites.
Pray for God to prepare your heart to be life giving in your conversations and relationships leading to eternal life for your friends, family, neighbors, and co-workers. We are praying for you! May God's glory be revealed in us as we introduce the restoring grace of Jesus. It may be for such a time as this!
