What is your favorite fruit? Why is it your favorite?
What does the world consider ‘lasting fruit?’
What do you think is lasting fruit?
Israel is often called a ‘vine’ in Scripture. Most notably in Psalm 80. What kind of vine was it?
What kind of vine is Jesus?
One vine produces one type of fruit. What fruit is Jesus talking about here?
What does it mean to ‘produce much fruit’?
The language here in vs. 8 is that genuine disciples bear fruit. A loose paraphrase could be ‘Bearing fruit is to my Father’s glory and makes a disciple and a disciple bears fruit because they are connected to me, for my Father’s glory...’
What ‘fruit’ do you hope to produce?
What fruit do the other ‘branches’ produce?
What does Scripture say is fruit? What does it mean to be fruitful?
What can you do to make sure you are connected to the vine?
If the vinedresser is the one responsible for the quality of the fruit, what will he do with your branch? Will he prune it or clean it? What are you prepared for him to do?
